Current Projects:
My current research project relates to local-global linkages in developing countries, particularly India, focusing especially on the role of domestic institutions, interests, and international trade institutions. I am completing a book: When
David Meets Goliath: How Global Trade Rules Shape Domestic Politics in India. My publications include a prize winning book, The
Regional Roots of Developmental Politics in India: A Divided Leviathan (Indiana: Indiana University Press, 2005), and journal articles on federalism, subnational comparisons in India, India and China, on business collective action in India. I am part of a recently published book, edited by Edward Friedman and Bruce Gilley, Asia's Giants: Comparing India and China (Palgrave, Macmillian, 2005).
