Asha for Education *

Asha-Madison is a chapter of Asha for Education, a non-profit voluntary organization dedicated to bring socioeconomic change in India mainly using the medium of education. In addition, Asha addresses other related issues such as health care, environment and women empowerment. Asha's aim is to mobilize the local population to collectively support and provide assistance in different forms to groups working at the grass roots in India. Since its inception in 1991, Asha has raised over $4,000,000 and has directly supported 385 projects in 24 states benefiting thousands of children in India.

Asian Pacific American Law Student Association/ South Asian Law Student Association (APALSA/SALSA)

APALSA/SALSA is a chapter of a national organization. It provides academic, career, and social support as well as professional connections to individuals pursuing careers in law.

Association for India's Development (AID) *

AID-Madison is a chapter of Association for India's Development, an international organization. AID is committed to grassroots causes in India, such as women's rights, childhood literacy, tribal health, and community development. AID's mission is to bring resources from people who have them to people who need them.

India Student Association (ISA)

ISA's purpose is to educate the campus on Indian culture and to promote the Indian presence on campus. ISA also provides a solidarity for those interested in India. Each semester, ISA puts on a cultural program, Diwali Night in the fall, and India Night in the spring. Other major events include Garba and Holi celebrations.

Indian Graduate Students Association (IGSA)

IGSA's mission is to maintain ties with the Indian community in and around Madison. IGSA provides support to Indian students, particularly to those new to the University in adjusting to the Madison campus and lifestyle. In addition, the organization promotes Indian culture on campus through classical concerts in music and dance and by celebrating Indian festivals.

Student Action for Indian Volunteerism and Aid (SAIVA)*

The purpose of SAIVA is to raise awareness and donations for the Combat Blindness Foundation as well as volunteering in the local community. Major events include Gandhi Day of Service and Bhangra for Blindness.
